BAWDEN, Richard AM PhD
Attended the College between 1950 to 1957 as a holder of a Cornwall County Scholarship. He graduated from the University of London (Wye College) winning a British Commonwealth Scholarship and completed his graduate studies at the University of Queensland, Australia. For many years he was Dean of Agriculture and Rural Development at the University of Western Sydney. More latterly he has been at Michigan State University, USA, as a Visiting Distinguished University Professor. Richard has fond memories of his time spent at the College and intends to visit when he returns briefly to England in June prior to retiring to Australia.

BRIMACOMBE, Shaun (2002)
He has just graduated from the University of West of England where he gained a 2:1 BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Systems Engineering.

HALL, John
John has just finished his degree at Swansea Uni and has passed an interview at Bristol conducted by Professor Richard Brereton and has been sponsored by a US Government Company at Bristol University to complete a Masters Degree in Chemometrics. John is a lead member in Professor Brereton's team working on a paper entitled “Fingerprint by Scent”.

NICHOLLS, John
Graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in English Literature (2005) and an MA with distinction in Romantic and Victorian Studies (2006)

O'CONNELL, Andrew
Left the College in 1985 and enjoyed a (short) career in football. Andrew is married and lives in Portsmouth with his family and runs his own company in commercial flue engineering. His youngest son has recently been signed for Portsmouth Football Club Academy, having also been chased by Southampton and Chelsea. Andrew intends to keep up to date with activities at the school by regularly visiting the school’s website.

PARRY, Christopher
has just graduated from Bristol University gaining a 2:1 (Hons) in Psychology. He is now working for a firm of solicitors and is looking to go into law.

PHILPOTT, Dominic
Gained a PhD at university. He lives in Edinburgh and works as a New Product Introduction Manager for an Avionics Company. He is still in contact with several former students including:

GRIMLEY, David – who now runs his own Tax Consultation Company
MACDONALD, Kevin – who is in a Senior Management Role with American Express
GILBODY, Julian – a Doctor in Birmingham
IVES, Lawrence – a Major in the Infantry serving in Basra last July.

Dominic informs the Beacon that with the exception of Lawrence all the others have managed to get themselves“hitched”. He, like Andrew above, keeps up to date with changes at the College via the website.

REES-OLIVIERE, Ray
Left the College in 1952 and joined the RAF. He was attached to 110 Squadron as a helicopter crewman and served in Malaya, Thailand, Labuan, Brunei and Borneo between 1962 and 1965. He spent his free time as a Big Band/Jazz vocalist, stage name Lance Raymond. He returned to Singapore on holiday in 2005. Retired, he now lives in Bath.

SCOTT, Paul (1991-1999)
After qualifying as a teacher in 2003, Paul rejoined the St Boniface's community as an ICT Teacher and more recently as a KS3 Pastoral Leader and Head of Year 9.

TUCKER, Dominic (1988-1995)
After practising as a Criminal Defence Lawyer for 4 years, Dominic has now qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate which allows him to present cases in the Crown Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and House of Lords.

TUCKER, Jonathan (1979-1986)
In May 2007, Jonathan will move from Exeter University to take up his new post of Professor of Finance at the University of the West of England, Bristol.

VINCENT, Thomas
In July 2006, Thomas was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science & Mathematics from Aston University.

WILLIAMS, Michael
After leaving the College in the early 70s he spent some time with the Brothers in Toddington. After leaving the Brothers he had a successful career with the Civil Service (Inland Revenue) in London moving to Nottingham in 1992. Michael retired last summer.
