Admission Criteria
The Following criteria operate for all valid* applications when decisions on admissions are agreed by the Governors and form the basis of the ranking of applications. All Roman Catholic/ non RC/ non Christian applications must be supported by a baptismal/ dedication certificate/ letter from senior Faith Leader:
1. Children, baptised Catholic, with at least one parent who adheres to the Catholic faith, and whose application is signed by their R.C. Parish Priest.
2. Children, baptised /dedicated in an other Christian denomination, with at list one parent who adheres to that denomination, and who currently attends a RC linked primary or has a sister at Notre Dame Comprehensive school and who can obtain a letter of support from a Minister of the Church.
3. Baptised children of other denominations who attend a non denominational primary school and whose application can be supported by a letter from the Minister of the Church.
4. Baptised children of another Faith community whose application is supported by a letter from a Senior Leader of that Faith Community.
5. A child whose parents seek admission to the school and who can demonstrate, in writing, both understanding and sympathy for the College ethos.
6. Any other valid* applications.
In the event of a tied situation direct walking distance from home to school by the most direct public route. The
shorter distance being given the highest priority.
Please note that an application with a statement of special education need that names the College is given first preference. An applicant in care of the Local Authority, who is Roman Catholic, will be given first preference over other applicants; other ‘looked after’ children will be given special consideration.
The College normally admits approximately 128 students (Planned Admission Number) per year.
* a valid application is one submitted on the correct College application form and includes the required supporting documentation.
Parents wishing to receive information on school travel from within the travel to work area of Plymouth or from other LAs should speak to the College office.
